About Halo Explore

Why we built this

Teachers and school leaders have more data than ever — Compass, SEQTA, NAPLAN, attendance exports, pastoral logs — but they spend hours moving it between spreadsheets to make sense of it. The tools on offer tend to either be enterprise platforms that require a long procurement to adopt, or lightweight “student-data-to-the-cloud” apps that ask schools to trust a third party with sensitive information.

Halo Explore is a third option: everything runs in your browser. You upload a CSV, the app parses it, your dashboard builds itself. No server stores your student records. No third party sees them. The AI features work over aggregates and pseudonyms, not raw identities.

What we stand for

  • Educator-led AI. Every AI output is a suggestion for a human to review, adjust, or reject. Decisions about children belong to educators.
  • Local-first.Student data lives on your device. The “cloud” is not a necessary ingredient for analytics.
  • Transparent. Every AI artefact is traceable to the inputs that produced it. No black boxes.
  • Tiny footprint. No tracking, no ads, no data brokerage. Free tier is genuinely free — no upsell walls in front of basic features.

Who's behind it

Halo Explore is built by Dataclysm Pty Ltd, a small team working out of Perth, Western Australia. We previously worked on analytics for mining, project controls, and professional services — the common thread is making complicated data legible to the people who actually have to act on it. School leaders were asking for the same thing, so we built this.
